Adult growth hormone deficiency (AGHD) is a well-characterized syndrome that is seen in patients with pituitary or hypothalamic disease as well as in people who were diagnosed as GH deficient in childhood. Despite the availability of GH for the past 25 years, most patients with AGHD are not being treated. This talk will review the recent AACE guidelines on the appropriate diagnosis, evaluation and treatment of AGHD, and will discuss how to safely treat patients with panhypopituitarism.
